“I am glad to finally have the opportunity to visit here, I think we have a lot of common interests, so we will definitely discover opportunities for cooperation useful to our institutes,” said Uldis Žaimis, Director of the Institute of Science and Innovative Technologies (ISIT) of Liepaja University, who visited KTU Institute of Environmental Engineering in February.
During the visit, a guest from Liepaja University presented the activities of ISIT and the directions of the research carried out there.
“The main research directions of our institute are innovative engineering, energy systems and materials, information and communication technologies, research and sustainable use of local resources, circular economy and innovative techniques in learning, – said ISIT director U. Žaimis, – and experimental and research work on nano-level material research as well as research on wave energy and biogas out of untraditional – sea based organic materials.”
The Director of ISIT also mentioned that the institute does not have PhD studies, students can choose only bachelor’s and master’s studies. Therefore, we discussed the possibility of ISIT students PhD studies at KTU Institute of Environmental Engineering.
